Carol Underhill

Carol Joyce Underhill, 94, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Pine Haven Christian Communities of Giddings Avenue.Carol was born on December 25, 1923, in Sheboygan, to Hugo and Evangeline (Franke) Gottsacker. She was a 1942 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. In January of 1944, Carol joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. Following her time in the Nurse Crops, she graduated from Columbia College of Nursing in Chicago where she co-authored a nursing procedure book. On February 1, 1947, Carol J. Gottsacker married Charles Underhill in Sheboygan at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Carol was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Carol was employed at Morningside Nursing Home for many years as a Registered Nurse. Carol enjoyed bird watching, reading, playing crossword puzzles, and organizing her many high school reunions. Carol is survived by her three sons, Craig (Arlene) Underhill of Sheboygan Falls, Chris (Millie) Underhill of Del Mar, CA, and Cary (Carolyn) Underhill of Vista, CA; one daughter, Cindy (Mike) McDade of Brooklyn Park, MN; six grandchildren, Nathan (Lauren) Underhill, Lisa (Daniel) Key, Catherine, Heather, Angela, and Shaun McDade; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene (friend, Joanne) Gottsacker of Beaver Dam.Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Underhill; parents, Hugo and Evangeline Gottsacker; and three sisters-in-law, Kay Gottsacker, Marion (Anton) Prinz, and Harriet (Charles) Utzinger.An entombment will take place at the Chapel of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler on March 5, 2018, at 10am.
