Elaine Kaeppel

Elaine Ardys Kaeppel, of Sheboygan, passed away on May 15, 2018 after 82 wonderful years of life. She was surrounded by her family during her peaceful last days at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice as she drifted off to be with the Lord. She was born to Lloyd and Elsie (Nelson) Jones on May 1st, 1936. Elaine was a graduate of Palmyra High School.Elaine met her loving husband of 62 years, Albert Ronald Kaeppel, while in school and they were married on June 30th, 1955 at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in the township of Sullivan, WI. She filled her life with many interests including traveling, reading, singing, and playing the piano. Elaine often proclaimed her lifelong passion for all music by stating "I could never live without music" - an appreciation that was passed on to her children. Mostly, though, she devoted her life to her husband, raising their six children and to the Lord. She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church. During her life, she worked in the accounting department of Acuity Insurance (17 years), Sears Roebuck in the Memorial Mall, and the Epworth Methodist Bookstore in Wellington, New Zealand. She also volunteered as a 4-H leader teaching knitting, taught Sunday school at Faith United Methodist Church, and playing the piano for church services. Elaine is survived by her faithful husband, Albert R. Kaeppel of Sheboygan; two daughters, Susan (Luke Harned) Kaeppel of Mahtomedi, MN, and Ann (Jeff) Brill of Sheboygan; four sons, Albert Scott (Mary Lou) Kaeppel of Madison, David (Leslie) Kaeppel of Sheboygan Falls, Mark (Alice) Kaeppel of Cambridge, WI, and Nelson (Lorrie) Kaeppel of Sun Prairie, WI; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Arlene Christensen of Palmyra, WI. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd & Elsie (Nelson) Jones; two brothers, Harland Jones, Harold Jones; and a sister, Betty Ann Jones.A funeral service to celebrate Elaine's life will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Sheboygan at 12pm with Rev. Cindy Thompson officiating. A burial will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Sullivan, WI. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service at 12 pm. A memorial fund is being established in her name for Sheboygan County Head Start and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
