Julie Nyhuis

August 1, 1964 — August 11, 2018

On Saturday, August 11, 2018 Julie Nyhuis ended a valiant struggle with cancer and Jesus reclaimed the missing Jewel for His crown. Julie was born on August 1, 1964, to her parents Jean and Monroe Bechle and married her husband, Matthew Nyhuis, on June 4, 1983. They had two wonderful children, Martin and Raquel (Haen) as well as their spouses Julia and Chris who Julie viewed as adopted children. They were blessed with five beautiful grandchildren: Logan (11), Evelyn (8), Reed (5), Sophia (5) and Ella (3). A sixth grandchild will be born in September. Matthew and Julie grew up together at Zion Christian Assembly and took pleasure in worshipping their Savior there and later at Immanuel Bible Church. Julie found joy in serving others, particularly through cooking. Her grandchildren will particularly miss her cinnamon rolls. She had a keen eye for decorating and was always on the lookout for some new treasure to hang on the wall. Julie enjoyed the simple things in life - like spending time with her dear family, sitting together on the couch reading and visiting, or quietly riding in the car holding hands with her husband. No matter the activity, her favorite moments were with her cherished family especially her grandchildren. Matthew referred to her as his "Jewel" and will miss her deeply. Julie is survived by her husband, parents, children and grandchildren and also her brothers Tim (Shelly) and Todd (Tobey). She is further survived by Matthew's mother, Lois Nyhuis as well as Matthew's brothers Allen (Kathy) and David (Jennifer) and sister Amy (Tim Butterfield). Julie was preceded in death by Matthew's father Wayne and Amy's husband Doug Anderson. Julie will be buried privately. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Immanuel Bible Church in Sheboygan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ray and Peggy Warwick, missionaries to Africa. Instructions will be posted on Julie's Facebook page. For online condolences and additional information please visit www.wenigfh.com.The Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) is serving the Nyhuis family with arrangements.
