Obituary for Marcy Helen Eppers

Marcella “Marcy” Eppers (Beck), 87, left this world to enter her eternal life in heaven on Sunday, August 6. She was a beautiful soul who enriched the lives of those who knew her. Marcy grew up on a farm in Marshfield Wisconsin, the fourth youngest of 15 children. She learned early the importance of family and the benefits of hard work. She met a tall, dark-haired man named Glen Eppers at a barn dance. They became exceptional dance partners, and then husband and wife on May 1, 1951. They raised five children based on a foundation of love, respect, family, and faith. Marcy was devoted to Blessed Trinity (St. Mary’s) Parish and the people of her community. For nearly 40 years, she ministered to the elderly at Pine Haven, a mission that was central to her life. Through weekly prayer services and individual visits, she offered communion and fellowship, and made sure everyone felt welcomed and loved. Marcy was active in outreach efforts with St. Vincent de Paul and Communion to the Homebound. She was a key member of the Church Environment Committee, the Prayer Chain, and cherished her role as a minister of the Bereavement Committee, helping families through grief and loss. Marcy was honored to receive Blessed Trinity’s Third Lifetime Achievement Award for her years of dedication. Marcy approached life with a genuine heart and indelible strength, and managed hardships with grace and optimism. She was passionate about her friendships and loved making people laugh. Marcy loved language. She wrote beautiful poetry, stories of growing up on the farm, and Life with Glen’s Cancer. She eagerly anticipated the daily crossword puzzle, meticulously maintained her yard, and doted on her birds. She cherished her loving neighbors (“kids”) who helped make it possible for her to live out her life at home.  To her children, Marcy was the center of the home and cornerstone of their lives. She instilled the values they carry with them today: to give to those less fortunate, to find the good in everyone, and that hardships help you grow. She was always willing to laugh at herself, and couldn’t resist a good pun. Home will always be… her kitchen overflowing with laughter, lots of singing, and the aroma of fresh-baked bread. Marcy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Glen, and grandsons Clinton Dale Campbell and Marcus Allyn Eppers. She leaves behind five children: Linda M. Eppers, Cheryl Eppers, Renee (Jim) Matthews, Julie (Bill Salvin) Eppers, David (Deanna) Eppers; grandchildren Stephanie Eppers, Joanna (Ryan) Golden, and Jack Eppers; great-grandson Abraham Clinton Eppers-Partridge; brother Jim (Sally) Beck, sister Florence (Delf) Kann, numerous nieces and nephews, and a cherished group of friends.  Services to celebrate Marcy’s life will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Friday, August 11, 2017. Visitation will be held at the church from 1-3 pm, Mass at 3 pm, and a luncheon afterward in the church basement.  For online condolences and additional information please visit www.wenigfh.com The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) is assisting Marcy’s family with arrangements.
