Maxine Merna Klingbeil, 85, of Sheboygan, formerly of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at St. Nicholas Hospital. Maxine M. Hobbs was born on May 17, 1932, in Ripon, WI to Henry and Edna (Hanson) Hobbs. She was a graduate of Ripon High School. On October 6, 1951, Maxine married Arlyn Gene Klingbeil at Scott Street First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Maxine and Arlyn lived in Markesan before moving to the Sheboygan Falls in 1964. Maxine was a faithful and busy wife and mother while raising her four children. Throughout the years she also worked at Arlan's Department Store, Heidenreiter Bus Service, and the Sheboygan Falls Dairy Queen. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. She also served as a volunteer at Triad. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her friends at Mapledale, and visiting with her friends and family. Maxine is survived by her two sons, David (Rosalie) Klingbeil and Michael (Roxanne) Klingbeil, both of Sheboygan; her daughter, Cindy Klingbeil of Whitefish Bay; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Klingbeil of Madison; five grandchildren, Brian (Trina) Klingbeil, Carl (Michelle) Klingbeil, Ashley Klingbeil, Travis Klingbeil, and Taylor Klingbeil; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Rose Klingbeil. Maxine is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arlyn Klingbeil; one son, Kevin Klingbeil; two sisters, Betty Marx, and Mary Hammen; a niece, Julie Ninnemann; a brother-in-law, Orice Hammen; her parents-in-law, Carl and Helen Klingbeil; step-mother, Laura Hobbs-Grams; and a step-sister, Elaine Wells.A funeral service to celebrate Maxine's life will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls at 12pm with Rev. Mark Janzen officiating. An inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.Relatives and friends may greet the family at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name for St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Nicholas Hospice, and ALS Association of Wisconsin.The family would like to extend their thanks to the staffs and doctors of St. Nicholas Hospital and St. Nicholas Hospice, Dr. Charles Korankye, Dr. Gregory Grose, the Terrace Place Senior Community, and her friends at Mapledale Senior Apartments for their support and friendship.
