Richard Frank Lewis, 70, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.Rick was born on August 17, 1947, in Waupaca, WI to Laurence and Inez (Fuerst) Lewis. He was a graduate of Cedar Grove High School. On November 2, 1974, Rick married Mary Wiegerling in Sheboygan at St. Peter Clever Catholic Church. Rick was employed at Larsen Canning Company, Trak International, and Modern Equipment where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. He was a faithful member of the Cedar Grove Fire Department for over 49 years where he served as both Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, bird watching, doing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his family.Rick is survived by his wife, Mary Lewis of Cedar Grove; daughter, Michelle (Philip) Burns of Cedar Grove; son, Robert (Michelle) Lewis of Muskego; four grandchildren, Sara Burns, Chloe Burns, Alana Lewis, Nolan Lewis; sister, Jeanette Rauscher; four brothers-in-law, John (Donna) Wiegerling, Steve (Meg Konlock) Wiegerling, Tony (Roxanne) Wiegerling, Donald Gruenke; and three sisters-in-law, JoAnne Huiras, Sr. Julia Wiegerling, and Audrey Wiegerling. Rick is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Inez Lewis; brother, Jan (Nancy) Lewis; four brothers-in-law, Tom Wiegerling, Mike Wiegerling, Alby Rauscher, Steve Huiras; three sisters-in-law, Helen Gruenke, Kathy Raunio, Joyce (Roger) Derus; and an infant son.A funeral service to celebrate Rick's life will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Steve Petry officiating. A burial will take place at Presbyterian Cemetery in Cedar Grove.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. A memorial fund is being established in his name for the Cedar Grove Fire Department.The family would like to express their thanks to the many who have helped their family along this journey.
