Roland William TenHaken, 88, of Oostburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.Roland was born on July 7, 1929, in Oostburg, WI to Louis and Marie (Westerbeke) TenHaken. He attended Oostburg High School. On March 3, 1950, Roland married Betty Navis in Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove. She preceded him in death on April 10, 1997. Roland served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1953. Roland was employed at Village of Oostburg for 28 years as a Superintendent of Public Works until his retirement in 1991.Roland was a member of First Reformed Church of Oostburg. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, canning and loved spending time with his family, especially the holidays.Roland is survived by his daughter, Cindy (John) Detienne of Oostburg; four sons, Gary (Janice) TenHaken of Sheboygan Falls, ; Carl (Kathy) TenHaken of Oostburg, Dean (Cindy) TenHaken of Sheboygan Falls, Randy (Judy) TenHaken of Oostburg; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Karen) TenHaken; one sister, Marilyn (Del) Hansen; and special friend, Mariette Schreurs. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Navis; his parents, Louis and Marie TenHaken; three brothers-in-law, Ernest (Elvira) Navis, Warren (Hazel) Navis, Harold Navis; sister-in-law, Lillian (Junior) Schreurs; A funeral service to celebrate Roland's life will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, at 11am at First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. A private family burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Town of Wilson.Relatives and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Homes in Oostburg on Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 3pm until 7pm and again on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the CHURCH from 10am until the time of service at 11am.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Pine Haven Christian Home and Sharon S.
