Ronald Zwadzich

Ronald J. Zwadzich, 85, of Oostburg, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017, at his home. Ronald was born on August 5, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, son of Joseph and Irene (Kempa) Zwadzich. He was a 1948 graduate of St. John Cathedral High School, Milwaukee, and received his bachelor's degree from UW-Milwaukee and two master's degrees from UW-Madison. Ronald was an educator - beginning his career with Head Start, and then continued on as principal of several Grafton and Cedarburg area schools until his retirement in 2001. As a principal, he was known as Mr. Z. His students appreciated his efforts to expand their academic and social experience with advanced programming. Ronald was a member of various educator organizations. He also enjoyed stamp collecting, reading, crossword puzzles, and caring for his cats. Ronald is survived by his brother, John J. Zwadzich of Fitchburg, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Bernard and Thomas J. (Carol) Zwadzich, and his sister-in-law, Pat Zwadzich. A funeral service to celebrate Ronald's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg, with Fr. Richard Cerpich officiating. Burial will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Madison. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Ronald's name for the Sheboygan County Humane Society. The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg (920-564-2771) is assisting Ronald's family with arrangements.
