Victor E. Krahn, 99, of Plymouth, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, at his home.Victor was born on September 7, 1919, in Town of Lyndon, to Arthur and Mabel (Hintz) Krahn. He was a 1938 graduate of Waldo High School. Victor served his country in the United States Army from 1941-1945. On May 10, 1947, Victor married the love of his life, Doris Koepke at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade. Victor was a farmer for 40 years on the family dairy farm until his retirement in 1985.Victor was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade, where he was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the church choir, was on the church council, serving as secretary and trustee. He was also a representative for the Lutheran Layman's League, and a Zone Board member. Victor was on the honor guard for the American Legion Post 386 and VFW Post 5612. He was a volunteer for Orphan Grain Train, a director for the Cascade Bank, on the County Agriculture Committee and a Farm Bureau member. Victor enjoyed baseball, dart ball, bowling, golfing, and being a spectator at his family's sporting events. He also enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, dancing and visiting; he had the gift to gab. Victor is survived by his wife, Doris; seven children, Dennis (Carolyn) Krahn, Sandra (Michael) Melius, Bruce (Mary) Krahn, Russell (Lorri) Krahn, Stewart (Mary) Krahn, Deborah (William) Friederichs and Julie (Blaine Waldo) Krahn; grandchildren, Nicole (Daren) Hawley, Greg (Jes) Krahn, Terry Krahn, Rebecca (Leif) Peterson, Jason (Carrie) Taylor, Mollie (Steve) Mechenich, Jennifer (Andy) Zak, Brian Krahn, Suzanne (Jason) Leinfelder, Alexander (Michele) Krahn, David (Ryan) Berahn, Trevor Krahn, Casey Krahn, Vicki (Tim) Schultz, Kim (Ryan) Davis and Olivia Krahn-Bockhop; 27 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Eleanor Koepke. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Victor was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Earl (Edith) Krahn; parents-in-law, August and Sarah Koepke, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alvin and Evelyn Koepke, Viola (Elmer) Seider, Edgar (Janet) Koepke, and Ralph (Jeanette) Koepke. A funeral service to celebrate Victor's life will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade, with Rev. Richard Bidinger officiating. A burial will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 11 am until the time of service at 2 pm.
