Alan E. Martelli, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly of the Bronx, New York, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2025, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.

Alan was born April 9, 1951, in the Bronx, NY, son of the late Hugo and Angelina (Pasifume) Martelli. He was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Chelsea Vocational High School in Manhattan and went on to study electronics.

For 15 years, he worked in electronics at Burroughs, located in the World Trade Center. After a short time working for General Motors in Tarrytown, NY, he began a 20+ year career working for the NY City Board of Education as a radio repair mechanic, and later as the supervisor of that department.

On May 29, 2012, he was united in marriage with Helen Winkel in Newburgh, NY.

Alan was a great storyteller, and was very talented and skilled with electronics, computers, and radio systems. He also had a passion for bowling and shared his passion with many people.

Alan is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Martelli, father-in-law, Peter Winkel and his brother-in-law Thomas Mahoney.

Alan is survived by his wife Helen; siblings JoAnn Mahoney of the Bronx, NY and Eugene (Karen) Martelli of Yorktown Heights, NY; nieces and nephews: Matthew Mahoney, Kim Mahoney, Rosemarie Alfano, Robert Renda Martelli, Michael Martelli and Brandon Martelli; 2 great-nephews; 3 dear nephews: Steven, Joseph and Robert Tresca; mother-in-law Lorraine Winkel; brothers and sisters-in-law: David (Debra) Winkel, Ann (Richard) Boehnlein, Mike (Missy) Winkel, Kris (Bill) Will, Kevin (Tricia) Winkel, Jean (Dan) Drewieske; 15 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews from the Winkel family.

In accordance with Alan’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Expressions of sympathy and condolence letters for his wife, Helen, may be directed to Wenig Funeral Home.
