Annette Hendrikse, 96, of Oostburg, went Home to her Lord and Savior surrounded by family on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Oostburg.
Annette was born on September 27, 1925, to Bernhard and Anna (Walvoord) Voskuil in Cedar Grove. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1943. Annette was united in marriage to Peter Hendrikse on April 16, 1947, in Cedar Grove.
She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg where she was involved in Eunice Society, Joy Society, Martha Society, choir, and sang in two trio groups. Annette and Peter enjoyed going on bike rides and traveling together. She loved being together with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Annette is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hendrikse of Palos Heights, IL; two sons, Don (Sandi) Hendrikse of Monona, WI and James (Doris) Hendrikse of Gibbsville; four grandchildren, Lori Hendrikse and Amanda (Zachary) Bohne, Joel (Alison) Hendrikse and Todd (Hikari) Hendrikse; six great-grandchildren, Levi and Luke Hendrikse, Megumi and Natsumi Hendrikse, Xander and Ashton Bohne. She is further survived by her brother, Ralph “Bud” Voskuil; brother-in-law, A. Richard (Jean) Hendrikse; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; parents; brother, Carl (Pearl) Voskuil; and sister-in-law, Margaret Voskuil.
A funeral service will be held at First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11:00am with Pastor Drew Zylstra officiating. Burial will take place at Hartman Cemetery. A livestream of the funeral service will take place by visiting her obituary page at www.wenigfh.com .
Family and friends may greet the family at church from 9:00am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to First Christian Reformed Church, Oostburg Christian School, Pine Haven Christian Communities, or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Annette’s name.
The Hendrikse family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Pine Haven Christian Communities and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate care of Annette over the years.
