Audrey Jean Achtmann, 77, of Oostburg, WI, passed away Saturday April 4th, 2026 at her home, leaving us with an emptiness that can never be replaced.
Born on April 30th, 1948, she was the daughter of Oscar and Delores (Stuefen) Ottensmann and a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Audrey dedicated her career to Wigwam Mills, where she worked with pride. She served as the union secretary and especially loved working at the hallway sock sale. In addition to her years at Wigwam, she worked part‑time at Kwik Trip and Bemis.
Audrey was a devoted wife, whose heart belonged completely to her husband, Thomas, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Their bond was shaped by a lifetime of shared love, memories, and a connection that needed no words. She cherished the family they built together. As a mother of two, she poured her love and guidance into her children, though she endured the heartbreaking loss of her son, her love for both of her children remained deep and unwavering.
As she became a grandmother, she got the title “Booboo”, Becoming a great‑grandmother, “Booboo” carried on filling her days with joy. Her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, including Jackson and Cameron, with whom she shared a special closeness, were her pride, her laughter, and her greatest happiness. We love you Booboo!
She found comfort in the simple pleasures of life: getting lost in a good book, unwinding with a game of Candy Crush, eating chocolate ice cream with raspberries, and she was an avid Elvis fan. Her home was also filled with the companionship of her beloved dogs, who were never far from her side.
Across every generation and every chapter of her life, Audrey’s love was steady, generous, and unforgettable. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Audrey is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, of Oostburg. She is further survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shelby and John Mallmann.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Brianna (Justin) Rauwerdink, Kylie Mallmann, Jessica (Ben) Severance, Missy Mallmann, and Mariah Mercure and many great‑grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings: Jim (Darlene) Gruenke, Diane Sperry, Nancy Meinhardt, Violet (Warren) Miller, and Cheryl (Jody) Booth. Along with many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Achtmann. Her brother, John Ottensmann, and brother-in-law, Rickey Meinhardt, her aunt and uncle, Elaine and Art Weber. Her niece and nephew, Troy and Lisa. Her parents, grandparents and parents-in-law, Clinton and Frances.
