Barbara Gabrielse

Barbara Lou Gabrielse, 88, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.Barbara was born on September 27, 1929, in Sheboygan Falls to Stanley and Margaret (Alspach) Harder. She was a graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On August 6, 1947, Barbara Harder married Leonard Gabrielse, Jr. in Sheboygan. Barbara was a faithful and dedicated homemaker while raising a family of eight children. She was a member of Christ Community Church, formerly First Christian Reformed Church, in Sheboygan. She enjoyed knitting, rug weaving, reading, and volunteering for the Salvation Army. Barbara is survived by two daughters; Nancy (Steven) Tenpas of Sheboygan Falls, Jane Gabrielse Austin of Sheboygan Falls; six sons, Norman (Terry) Gabrielse of Green Bay, WI, Dale (Sandra) Gabrielse of Sheboygan, Kurt Gabrielse of Greenbush, Scott Gabrielse of Sheboygan, Allan (Linda) Gabrielse of FL, Neal Gabrielse of Greenbush; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; four sister-in-laws, Mae Harder of Sheboygan, LaVerne Gabrielse of Oostburg, Carol (Harland) Roerdink of Oostburg, Loretta Gabrielse of Sheboygan; three brother-in-laws, Peter (Judy) Gabrielse of Sheboygan Falls, Cornelius (Mary) Gabrielse of Sheboygan, David (Helen) Gabrielse of Oostburg. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley & Margaret Harder; her husband, Leonard Gabrielse, Jr.; and a son, Robert Gabrielse. A funeral service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 12pm at Christ Community Church in Sheboygan. A burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 10am until the time of service at 12pm.A memorial fund is being established for Christ Community Church in Sheboygan.
