Barbara Seider

Barbara J. Seider, 84, of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.Barbara Jean Dorcas was born on November 12, 1936, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin to Peter and Mildred (Johnson) Dorcas.Barbara graduated from Rhinelander High School; she continued her education achieving a degree as a Registered Nurse. Barb loved nursing and recalled with fondness her days serving families and children in public health, as well as the community in the offices of local physicians.Barbara had many varying work interests that she shared with her husband and family: the owner-operators of BJ'S Parkview Restaurant in Sheboygan Falls; Licensed Real Estate Agent; Certified Real Estate Appraiser; real estate investor; and the owner of My Fair Lady consignment shoppe.Community and charitable activities included serving on the local board of The United Way; as well as being a faithful and active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church. In her later years, The Gathering Place was a blessing to Barb and her family.Barbara was known for her gracious hosting of friends and family-she opened her home for many fun and festive holiday gatherings. She embraced the people and cultures of her many travels around the country and world. Her love for her children and grandchildren will be remembered for generations and the example she set has been paid forward in the lives of her family, as they seek to emulate her servant-hearted ways. The many rousing games of cards played around the family table are cherished almost as much as the stories and insight gleaned from a life well-lived. She genuinely loved to serve.Barbara was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ-her prayer life and encouraging words of faith were inspired by her Mother's active faith-and she remains an inspiration to her family and friends.On December 16, 1961, Barbara married Lyle Seider in Manawa, Wisconsin. Together they pursued their careers, eventually settling in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin where they raised their family in a busy love-filled home-all of their children remain very close -an example set by Barbara, no matter where they have settled.Barbara is survived by her husband, Lyle Seider; three sons: Steven (Angie) Seider of Dallas, TX children: Andrew Seider, Allyssa (Kris) Seider, Peter (Eugenia), and Daniel Seider; Craig (Cindy) Seider of Sheboygan, WI children: Jenifer (Nathan) Wagner, Jamie (Alistar) Faul, Krystina (Brandon) Welch, Joshua (Chloe) Seider, Matthew Seider; John (Debbie) Seider of Richardson, TX children: Zach Seider, Ben Seider and daughter Stacy (Jay) Schreurs of Sheboygan Falls, children: David (Katelyn Reiter) Schreurs, Jonathan Schreurs, Carly Schreurs, Joseph Schreurs; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Simone) Dorcas; sister in law, Marlys Seider; brother in law, Ken Seider. She is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, and friends.She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Dorcas, sisters-in-law; Kathryn Dorcas, Linda Seider, Betty Spielvogel, Vivian Zinkgraf; brothers-in-law, Mike Spielvogel, Ralph Zinkgraf, Virgil Seider and nephew Mark Seider.A funeral service will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Sheboygan Falls on Monday, December 28, 2020, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. A visitation will take place at church from 11:00 am until the time of service. Wearing a face covering and social distancing are required.
