Barbara Lorraine Veldboom, 77, of Hingham, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.
Barbara was born on May 15, 1949, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to the late Elwood and Eileen (Schuette) Meyer.
Barbara was first married to Eldon Hibbs, who passed away on November 19, 1966. On March 29, 1969, she was united in marriage to Larry Veldboom at Trinity Lutheran Church. Larry preceded her in death on November 18, 2024.
Barbara loved to bake, especially Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, and she took great pride in her garden, especially her flowers. She was very crafty and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also loved bowling and playing cards with her late husband, Larry, and sharing "coffee clutches" with her favorite neighbor ladies.
Barbara is survived by her children, Steven (Vicki) Hibbs, Lorie (Don) Nyhof, Eric Veldboom, and Sherri (Adam) Berkey; grandchildren, Chelsea (Jason) Otte, Jesse (Katie) Hibbs, David (Kendra) Nyhof, Stephanie (Josh) Arndt, Travis Veldboom, Tyler Veldboom, Brynn Oppeneer, Ashlyn Berkey, and Addison Berkey; great-grandchildren, James McElligott, Caleb Otte, Eileen Otte, Ryan Nyhof, Aubrey Nyhof, Charlotte Arndt, Harper Arndt, Mallory Arndt, and Theodore Arndt, with one more Arndt great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Kathy (Paul) Schuessler, Leann (Rodell) Davis, Ron (Diane) Meyer, and Jon (Sandy) Meyer; sister-in-law, Connie (Jeff) Felde; and brothers-in-law, Phil (Pam) Veldboom and Dennis (Ginny) Veldboom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Eileen Meyer; her first husband, Eldon Hibbs; her second husband, Larry Veldboom; her sister, Diane Nowak; and brothers-in-law Edward Veldboom, Gary Felde, one niece and great nephew.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Shores of Sheboygan, St. Nicholas Hospital, and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg, with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m., Pastor Barrett Marcantel officiating. Burial will follow at Hartman Cemetery.
