Beatrice Helen Van Ess, 93, of Plymouth formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.Beatrice was born on April 8, 1925, in Cedar Grove, to Walter and Alice (Faas) Mentink. She was a 1943 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. On July 26, 1946, Beatrice married Irvin in Town of Holland. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2002. Beatrice was a machine operator at Larsen Canning Company. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Beatrice was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove, where she served on the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed camping with her friends, crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beatrice is survived by her two sons, Larry (Dawn) Van Ess of Union Grove and Paul (Linda) Van Ess of Plymouth; daughter-in-law, Christine (Phil) Buchmann of Gibbsville; grandchildren, Alison (Jeff) Nielsen, Jeremy (Jen Jinks) Van Ess, Jana Van Ess, Stacie Van Ess, Ryan (Josephine) Van Ess, Josh (Jen) Van Ess, Amber (Chad) Jensema, Christopher (Dena) Van Ess, Amber Buchmann, and Brooke (Kris) Milner; thirteen great-grandchildren, Brenden, Bryn, Evan, June, Dylan, Hailey, Adrianna, Makenna, Camden, Airabella, Georgia, Kennedy, and Jada; one brother-in-law, Roger Van Ess; and one sister-in-law, Lois Van Ess. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irvin; son, James Van Ess; brother, Lloyd (Muriel, and Helen) Mentink; two sisters, Marian (Paul) Tempas, and Doris (Lloyd) Van Ess; parents-in-law, Henry (Elizabeth) Van Ess; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A funeral service to celebrate Beatrice's life will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019, at 11 am at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Chris Schaefer officiating. A burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at First Reformed Church of Cedar Grove in Cedar Grove on Sunday, January 20, 2019, from 3-5 pm and again on Monday, at the CHURCH from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am.Beatrice loved life, laughter and her Lord!A memorial fund is being established in her name for in her name.For online condolences and additional information please visit www.wenigfh.com.
