Betty Lewin

Betty Jane Lewin, 90, of Port Washington and formerly of Hingham, passed away on Friday evening, August 24, 2018, at Ellen's Home in Port Washington where she had resided for the past two years.Betty was born on December 5, 1927, in Prentice, to William and Elvera (Pearson) Abraham. On November 20, 1948, Betty married Ernst "Ernie" A. Lewin at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Ernie preceded her in death on June 10, 2011. Betty was a loving and dedicated wife and mother and worked at Cascade Cheese Factory for many years before her retirement. Betty was a faithful and longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran in Adell. She enjoyed cooking, embroidery, gardening, canning, and doing yard work. Betty will always be remembered for her kindness and positive attitude.Betty is survived by her two sisters, Marilyn (Irving) Hennings of Wauwatosa, and Bonnie (Bob) Hillmann of Cedarburg; a brother, Ferdinand (Betty) Abraham of Oliver; two sisters-in-law, Ruth (Murray) Heidtke of Grafton and Millie Severson of Appleton; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Spiering of Superior. Betty is further survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ernst Lewin; two sons, an infant and Robert Lewin; one brother, William (Sandra) Abraham; and one sister, Clarabell Spiering.A funeral service to celebrate Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Emmanuel Lutheran in Adell with Rev. Christopher M. Seifferlein officiating. A burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 am until the time of service at 1:30 pm.
