Blanche Dotz

Blanche F. Dotz, 81, of 916 Huron Avenue, Apt 204, Sheboygan died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, January 13, 2010 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Blanche was born on March 20, 1928 in Shawano, the daughter of the late Floyd and Lydia (Nikisch) Mirkes. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1946. On August 23, 1947 she married the late Arthur Dotz in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1994. Blanche was a housekeeper for the Imperial Hotel for 15 years before her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Blanche enjoyed reading, word puzzles, cooking, collecting coins and dolls. She was an avid sports fan. The Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers were her favorite teams. Blanche is survived by three daughters, Linda (Dale) Kenney of Milwaukee, Janet (Mike) DeBecker of Sheboygan, and Debra (Mark) Buffington of Howards Grove; four grandchildren, Shelly DeBecker, Chris (Cindy) Thill, Pat (Elizabeth) Buffington and Andy Buffington; three great grandchildren, Madison and Chloe Thill, and Bella Buffington; one sister-in-law, Audrey Peterson of Sheboygan; one brother-in-law, Robert (Ruth) Dotz of Sheboygan; an aunt, Jean Petermann of Sheboygan; and many dear friends. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; one sister, Edith (Robert) Munnik; and one brother, Floyd "Bud" Mirkes. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 16, 2010 with the Rev. Mark Janzen officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
