Sheboygan Falls

Carol Marion Haefke, 77, of Sheboygan Falls, went up to Heaven on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Carol was born to Stanley and Eleanor Zaucha on December 7, 1943, in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Antigo High School. Carol was united in marriage to Dennis Haefke on April 16, 1983, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. She was employed at Toro Company for 47 years, until her retirement in 2014.

Carol was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Sheboygan Falls Legion Auxiliary for 39 years and the Sheboygan County Knitting and Crochet Club, where she served as president for a few years. Carol and Dennis volunteered on 7 church mission trips to various places.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting lap blankets and baby hats to give to many charitable organizations. Carol loved oil painting, photography, cooking, and decorating cakes. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and going on family vacations together. Carol’s creativity and uniqueness will be deeply missed.

Carol is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dennis; children, Bill (Laura) Kern of Adell, Michael (Jessica) Haefke of Oostburg, Todd (Andrea) Haefke of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Stephanie (Travis) Seidel, Amberlyn (Seth) Barribeau, Karington and Sydney Haefke, Allison and Matthew Haefke, Jacob (Crystal) Hedrich; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Aiden, and Zoe Hedrich. She is further survived by her siblings, Robert Zaucha, Arlene Krueger, Bill (Laura) Zaucha; siblings-in-law, Julie (Bill) Ullmer; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Arthur J and Mildred Haefke; son, Craig Haefke; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Darryl) Schroeder.

A funeral service for Carol will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Kyle Backhaus officiating. Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Relatives and friends may greet the family from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.

Memorial donations can be made in Carol's name to Sheboygan Falls Legion Auxiliary and the Sheboygan County Knitting and Crochet Club.
