Carol Jean Otte
Carol “Tootie” Otte, 72, of Cedar Grove, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
Carol was born on January 27, 1953, to Adeline (Schluter) and Lawrence Galabinske, who preceded her in death.
On November 1, 1985, Carol married the love of her life, David Otte at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum, where Carol was a member. Together they shared many wonderful years.
Carol, along with her husband, owned and operated Otte Bus Service for many years.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved her family deeply. She especially cherished her grandchildren and would do anything for them. Everyone looked forward to her famous tortes - filled with thoughtful surprises and treats that reflected her generous heart.
Carol had a soft spot for her spoiled chihuahuas, Sparky and Lily, who were constant companions. She enjoyed watching Food Network, quilting with her mom and sisters in her younger years, and proudly earning her motorcycle license so she could ride alongside Dave.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lawrence “Gabby” Galabinske Jr., and sisters Susie (Jim) Maurer and Mary (Mike) Gerlach.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Dave; sister, Penny Galabinske Pagel; sister-in-laws, Kathleen Galabinske Fleischman, Gail Otte; children, Richard (Theresa) Otte and Jeffrey (Beth) Otte; grandchildren, Jonathan (Brooke) Otte, Keaton (Brooklyn) Otte and Halayna (Derek) Damrow; and great grandchildren Kayson, Bennett, Henry and Alayna; along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends, who will miss her dearly.
A private family service will be held.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Jayden from Cornerstone Caregiving, Kim Eberhardt, staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Home Instead caregivers for their compassionate care and support.
