Carolyn Hunt

Carolyn A. Hunt, formerly of Sheboygan Falls, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, May 30, 2021 at her home in Howards Grove. She was 84 years old.

Carolyn was born May 24, 1937 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Henry and Esther (nee Koeppe) Gross. She graduated from North High School in 1955 and went on to study Lay Ministry at Concordia University

On November 30, 1957 she was united in marriage with Bruce Hunt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. The couple raised their family in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death in 1983.

A computer operator, Carolyn worked at Aurora Memorial Hospital, and prior had been a seamstress for Lakeland Outwear.

A former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, Carolyn belonged to Sherman Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. For a long time, she and Bruce were active with the Jaycees and Jaycettes in Sheboygan Falls. She looked forward to creating her bi-monthly newsletter, a collection of faith, news and jokes that she considered her ministry to her family and friends.

Carolyn loved being outside in the sun, cutting the grass, gardening and planting flowers. She was a skilled seamstress, and recently learned how to crochet and quilt. She had enjoyed camping, getting together with the Red Hats for group meals, and doing puzzles with her favorite daughter, Anna. Her family will miss her cooking and baking, especially her meat biscuits.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Tim Hunt (Debbie Koeppen) of Sheboygan, Terry Hunt (Kathy Van Der Sande) of Sheboygan Falls and Anna Louise Hunt of Howards Grove. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Tiffany (Brian Fox) Hunt, Ashley Hunt, Brian Hunt (Kim Diedrich), Amanda (Jeremy) Miller, Nathaniel (Gabby) Hunt, January (Jeremy) Wilterdink and Julie Drossel; great-grandchildren: Ethan, McKinLeigh, Wyatt, Lorelei, Cole and Chase Miller and Luke Hunt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Bruce, son Steven and brothers Hank and Lester Gross.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls. All are welcome to join a livestream of the service at wenig.live/CarolynHunt . The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00-11:00AM.
