Carter Protzmann

Carter Brent Protzmann, 69, of Oostburg, left his earthly home on Sunday, December 12, 2021, to go to his Heavenly Home, prepared by his Savior Jesus Christ.

Carter was born on October 27, 1952, to Wayne and Arlene (Schmoller) Protzmann in Milwaukee. He was united in marriage to Sharon Purfuerst on August 28, 1971 in Milwaukee.

Carter was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. He enjoyed fishing with his sons on nearby lakes, deer hunting on neighbor’s land just a short walk away, playing pool with friends in the county. With his passing, Carter’s Car Care comes to the end of the road after almost 50 years. He enjoyed the relationships he had with the businesses and customers he serviced.

Carter is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; children, Aaron Protzmann of Orange, CA, Joseph Protzmann of Minneapolis, MN, David Protzmann of Hartford, WI, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Protzmann of Sheboygan, Elizabeth Protzmann of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Alexis Stewart, Carly and Joshua Protzmann, Melanie and Briella Protzmann; mother-in-law, Ruth Purfuerst; sister, Denise Protzmann; siblings-in-law, Jim (Carlette) Purfuerst, Karen (Ken) Kegley, Tom (Debbie) Purfuerst, Becky Hielsberg. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Arlene; father-in-law, William Purfuerst; and brother, Keith Protzmann.

A memorial service will be held at First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:30 am. Family and friends may greet the family at church from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
