Charles Lorenz

Charles Lorenz, 89, of Sheboygan formerly of Kohler, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at Golden Living Center in Sheboygan. Charles was born on February 27, 1926, in Kohler, son of Charles and Marie (Kampman) Lorenz. He attended Kohler High School. Charles served in the US Navy from 1944-1946. He married Carol Reichert on July 9, 1949, they had two daughters. She preceded him on death on August 15, 1997. On August 25, 2001, he married Gloria Petersohn Van Engen in Kohler. Charles was employed as a supervisor in the shipping department with Kohler Company for 40 years until his retirement in 1988. Charles was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler where he was active in the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, travel, yardwork, and playing cards. Charles is survived by his wife of 14 years, Gloria; two daughters, Linda Lange of Kohler and Susan (Rendell) Lilyquist of Sheboygan; two step-sons, Gary (Chris) Van Engen of Sheboygan and Glenn Van Engen of Sheboygan; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Lilyquist, Matthew Lange, Jonathan (Rita) Lilyquist, Joshua (Nicole) Lilyquist, Elizabeth (Andrew Liebhard) Lange, and Lisa (Trever) Schneider; 2 step-grandchildren, Tanya Halverson and Brittany Halverson; eleven great- grandchildren, Ethan, Elison, Garrett, Logan, Emma, Jack, Sam, Lydia, Nora, Damon, and Evan; three brothers, Bernard (Shirley) Lorenz of Kohler, Leo Lorenz of Sheboygan, and Joseph (Terry) Lorenz of Rhode Island; and one sister-in-law, Delores Lorenz. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Valeria Lorenz, his brother, Donald Lorenz, and his great-grandson, Owen. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Charles' life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. Relatives and friends may greet the family at church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice and especially, the staff of the Golden Living Center for the wonderful care they gave to Charlie.
