Dale G. Te Stroete, 79, of 319 West Union Avenue, Cedar Grove died very peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2006 at his home with his loving wife and children at his side. Dale was born on August 18, 1926 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Alvin and Florence (TeWinkle) Te Stroete. He attended Cedar Grove High School. Dale married the former Gloria Beernink on June 6, 1947 on their family farm in Cedar Grove. Dale served in the US Navy, aboard the LST, during WWII from 1945 - 47. He worked at Oostburg Concrete and Simplicity Mfg. in Port Washington prior to his retirement. Dale was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and the American Legion Post in Cedar Grove. He enjoyed gardening, took pride in having a clean car, and cherished the time he could spend with his family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria; four daughters, Barbara (Chris) Watry of Belgium, Karen (Brian) Klos of Cedar Grove, Sandy (Tom) Hollrith of Grafton, and Betty (Mark) Lorge of Cedar Grove; two sons, Jerry (Karla) Te Stroete of Cedar Grove and Larry (Mary) Te Stroete of Manitowoc; 16 grandchildren, Jeff, Tom, DeAnne, Paul, Valerie, Michelle, Andy, Amy, Brad, Michael, Jenni, Mary, Emily, Joseph, Robert, and Kate; three great grandchildren; one sister, Carol Amberg of Fort Myers, FL; and his step mother, Pauline Te Stroete of Cedar Grove. Dale was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and Richard Te Stroete, and one sister, Virginia Teunissen. Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 1 pm with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery with full military graveside rites. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, May 19, 2006, from 4-8 pm, and on Saturday, at church, from noon until the time of the family service at 12:45 PM.
