David Allan Hartman

David Allan Hartman, age 67, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on June 26, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1959, in Sheboygan to the late Lester and Yvonne (Nouguier) Hartman.

David was a proud 1977 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. On September 27, 2014, he married the absolute love of his life, Brenda. Over his dedicated career, David lent his talents to various companies including Kohler, Nemschoff, and VPI, before retiring from Spartech Plastics in September 2018 after 30 years of hard work. David truly embraced and enjoyed every moment of his retirement, deeply appreciating the freedom it gave him to live life on his own terms.

Throughout his life, David’s true passion was the world of antique cars and trucks. He was a genuine enthusiast who lived and breathed classic horse power and steel, buying and selling various vintage models over the years. For over three decades, his most prized ride was his 1954 Chevy truck. After parting ways with it, he constantly longed for that classic feel again. Together, he and Brenda searched high and low until they found his new pride and joy: a 1961 Chevy Apache 20 truck. David poured his heart and soul into restoring that Apache, meticulously working on it through the years. He absolutely loved that truck. During the beautiful Wisconsin summers, he and Brenda took countless unforgettable cruises together, making regular trips to the Iola Car Show and competing in events across the state. Cruising in his truck with Brenda and showcasing his hard work brought him immense joy, and he was incredibly proud of the success he achieved in restoring his '61 Chevy to its former glory.

When he wasn't under the hood or out on the road, David was an ultimate Wisconsin sports fan. He passionately followed the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Wisconsin Badgers, and NASCAR. His dedicated man cave served as a proud shrine to his favorite teams.

Above all, David loved Jesus, his cherished wife, his truck, local sports, and his wonderful circle of family and friends. While he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus, reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Hartman, and his brother-in-law Gary Stokdyk.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda (Stokdyk) Hartman; his brothers, Perry, Daniel, and Thomas Hartman; his sister-in-law, Terry Hartman; his nephews, Neil (Rosa) Hartman and Jordan (Kasey) Hartman; his nieces, Deidra (John) Sukowaty, Michelle (Raymond) Zalewski, Margo Clark, and Amber Desmidt; his great-nephews, Issac Hartman, Elijah Hartman, and Isaiah Desmidt; and his great-niece, Arianna Hartman, along with a host of extended family members. David was especially close to Brenda’s side of the family, who enveloped him and Brenda with endless love and support. The family wishes to extend a special acknowledgment of gratitude to Deb DeRuyter, Joan and Mike Hintz and family, and Bob and Liz Stordyk and their family, as well as Gary Stokdyk’s family.

A memorial fund has been established in David’s name. Brenda and the family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate care of David and steadfast support for Brenda. David and Brenda also want to thank all of their family and friends for the outpouring of support and prayers during this difficult time. We love you!
