David Shelby Wyatt went peacefully home to his Lord and Savior, Sunday morning, August 4, 2024. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many.
David was born on August 2, 1935, in Buffalo, New York to George and Nellie (Riggs) Wyatt. Following high school and college courses, he went on to serve his country in Korea, while in the US Army from 1958-1960. David worked at AT&T and Bell South, starting as a lineman and becoming a manager.
On November 7, 1981, David was united in marriage to Betty Jean (Smies) Wyatt at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
David was a faithful member of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Westminster Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, GA; Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Cedar Grove, WI; and First Reformed Church, Cedar Grove, WI. He served in Bible Studies, Sunday schools, on missions committees, and as both an elder and deacon.
David loved to read, and work with his hands - fixing things, installing things, problem solving. After retirement from the phone company, he turned his skills into a Handyman Business. First in Florida, and then in WI, where he enjoyed meeting people and helping them.
David is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Mark (Cherise Jennette) Wyatt, Chris (Donna) Wyatt; sibling: Robin Wyatt-Little; siblings-in-law: Thomas (Janet) Smies, James (Donna) Smies, Vicki (Bob) Trank, Tim (Maggie) Carini. He is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Nellie Wyatt; brother and sister-in-law George & Ellen Wyatt, and Mike & Bernie Wyatt. Sister and brother-in-law Melinda Sue Wyatt Hutchings & Art Hutchings, Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barb & Al Hauber; and brother-in-law Ted Little.
David will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. They do have this hope: Jesus said..., “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,” John 11:25 ESV
