Delores Mae Back

Delores Mae Back, 93, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Giddings Avenue.

Delores was born on October 10, 1932, to Merlin and Grace “Wilma” (Scholten) Shaver in Plymouth. She was a 1950 graduate of Oostburg High School. Delores worked at Seamann-Schilling store in Adell from 1950-1954.

On June 3, 1954, Delores was united in marriage to Howard Back at Hingham Reformed Church. They farmed in the Town of Lima until moving to Sheboygan Falls in 1979.

Delores was a member of Gibbsville Church. She was also involved in the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau Board, serving on the women’s board for several years. Delores was a 4H leader, and a member of Homemakers and TOPS. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 5 years and at Pine Haven for numerous years.

She enjoyed traveling and whistling, always loved a good joke, and had a quick wit. Delores always cut out jokes from the paper and was known to give them out to her family. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sold her crafts at the Corner Store at Pine Haven for years.

Delores is survived by her children: Carol (Keith) Dulmes of Waldo, Richard (Sherry) Back of Sheboygan Falls, Sandra (Greg) Fisher of Waldo; eight grandchildren: Jerrod (Kari) Dulmes, Amy (Gordie) Seegert, Alison (Luke) Scholten, Jennifer (Mike) Navis, Adam (Michelle) Back, Ryan (Mary) Back, Sarah (Luke) Wulf, Ben (Cheryl) Fisher; great-grandchildren: Teagan and Myla Dulmes, Riley and Aubrey Seegert, Madison and Brooke Scholten, Ellie, Jason, Jackson, Jalen, and Jordy Navis, Gabby, Leeland, and Harper Back, Mason and Levi Wulf, Charles and Theodore Fisher. She is further survived by her brother, Joseph Shaver; sister, Margaret Quade; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; parents; brothers, John (Marge) Shaver, Gerald (Gertrude) Shaver; siblings-in-law, Vicki Shaver, Raymond (Anna) Back, Frances (Alfred) DeRuyter, Hazel (Irving) Rauwerdink.

A funeral service to celebrate Delores’s life will be held at Gibbsville Church on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 11:30am. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. A livestream of the service can be viewed by visiting Delores’s obituary page on wenigfh.com

Visitation will be held at church from 9:00am until 11:15am.

A memorial fund will be established in Delores’s name for Pine Haven Christian Communities or Campus Life Family Center.
