Delores M. Droppers, 89, of rural Cedar Grove, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Sheboygan Senior Community.
Delores was born August 25, 1936 in Cedar Grove, daughter of Harley and Ellen (Lubbers) Meerdink. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1954. On August 24, 1956, she was united in marriage to Dale Droppers at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. Together, they had two children, Craig (Sue) and Linda. He preceded her in death in 2017 after 60 years of marriage.
After raising her children, Delores worked at the Corner Store in Cedar Grove, Citizens Bank (1st Interstate, Norwest and Wells Fargo).
Delores and Dale were charter members of the Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove, where she shared God’s word as a Sunday school teacher. Together, they enjoyed bowling, traveling, and visiting with friends. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, crocheting and reading, and her grandchildren were the most important part of her life.
Delores is survived by her son Craig (Susan) of Oostburg and daughter Linda Sparks of McFarland; four grandchildren, Ben (Nicole) Droppers, Kyle Droppers, Matt (Megan) Sparks, and Leah (Brandon) Ruef; great-grandchildren Amalia, Luke and Ayla Droppers, Emma and Matthew John Sparks, and Elizabeth Ruef; sister Sharon Wisse; sisters-in-law, Donna (Mark) Oudersluys and Diane (Charles) Browne; nieces, nephews, many relatives and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dale, parents, parents-in-law Herbert and Loretta (LeMahieu) Droppers and brother-in-law Eugene Wisse.
A funeral service to celebrate Delores’s life will be held at 2PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Pastor Zach Tartar officiating. All are welcome to view a livestream of the funeral on Delores’s obituary page at wenigfh.com . She will be laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery beside Dale. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 10:30AM-1:45PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Campus Life or Multiple Sclerosis research.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Sheboygan Senior Community as well as Kris Hildebrand for her loving care, devotion, and friendship; her selfless dedication over the last decade left an immeasurable impact on the lives of Delores and her family.
