Delores M. Sabel

Delores M. Sabel, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Pine Haven Christian Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years old.

Delores Janty was born on June 20, 1930 in St. Anna, the daughter of Henry and Amanda (Nadler) Janty. She attended parochial school in St. Anna and graduated from Kiel High School with the class of 1948.

On June 25, 1949, she was united in marriage with Edwin Sabel in Kiel. The couple raised their family in Kiel and moved to Sheboygan in 2004. The two shared 57 years of marriage before he passed on November 28, 2006.

Delores worked for the Kiel School District for 21 years, retiring in 1990.

Delores was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, and the Catholic Women’s Charity Club. She loved being outdoors, gardening and tending to her flowers as well as traveling, fishing and golfing with Edwin. She was a loving grandmother, and her grandkids will cherish memories with her at the cabin.

Delores is survived by her children: Joan Kissinger of Elkhart Lake, Allan (Sharon) Sabel of Sheboygan, Jim (Wanda) Sabel of Sheboygan Falls, Mark (Val) Sabel of Kiel, Karen (John) Gilsdorf of Sheboygan Falls, Kay (Randy) McCoy of Sheboygan Falls and Brian (Roberta) Sabel of Stanford, CT; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Dorothy Sabel of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, daughter Jane (Jon) Ornelas, son-in-law Larry Kissinger as well as siblings and siblings-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:00PM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Blessed Trinity Parish, 319 Giddings Ave in Sheboygan Falls. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 3:00-5:00PM. She will be laid to rest on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Knollwood Memorial Park in Manitowoc.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Pine Haven Christian Home.
