Donald Louis Clousing, 81, of Oostburg, passed away peacefully to be home with his Savior, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at his home.
Don was born on April 28, 1944, to Louis and Elizabeth “Betty” (Prince) Clousing in Chicago, IL.
In 1966, Don was married to Lin Timmer, and they later separated in 1995.
On November 29, 2003, he was united in marriage to Mary (Van Handel) Vande Hey at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
For 12 years, Don taught Junior High Science and History at Oostburg Christian School. During his teaching career, he was one of the early teachers at the beginning of Sheboygan Christian High School. While teaching, he also was a bus driver for Otte Bus for many years and after he retired from teaching, he ran his own lawn service. Don operated Don’s Gun Repair where he would repair guns and fishing reels, amongst other things.
Don was a member of Oostburg CRC, where he served as a Cadets counselor, sang in the choir, and was a member of the funeral committee. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to estate and antique sales.
Don is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Cherie Duby, Michael (Shelly) Clousing, Andy (Tiffany) Vande Hey; grandchildren: Cole (Aspen) Manier, Alexander (Stella) Manier, Ryan Clousing, Allison Clousing, Quinn and Zane Vande Hey; great-grandchild, Myles Manier. He is further survived by his siblings, Russ (Sharon) Clousing, and Roberta (Vernon) Wiersma; siblings-in-law: Bob Van Handel, Joan (Jeff) Lamers, Ron (Jackie) Van Handel, Dan (Cathy) Van Handel, Dave (Lin) Van Handel, Steve (Kris) Van Handel, Larry (Kelly) Van Handel, Julie (Mike) Willinger, Dennis (Tina) Van Handel, Don (Sandy) Van Handel, Laurie (Terry) Leitzke; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at Oostburg CRC on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00am. A livestream of the service can be found by visiting firstcrcoostburg.org/stream/.
Visitation will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday, from 4:00-7:00pm and again at church on Friday, from 9:00am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Oostburg Christian School in Don’s name.
