Donald E. Pilon passed away Wednesday evening, July 14, 2021 at his home in Sheboygan after a lengthy illness. He was 65 years old.
Don was born November 11, 1955 in Sheboygan, the son of David and Phyllis (nee Walsh) Pilon. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School and worked as a meat cutter for the local Park ‘n Shops. For many years, he worked for the Sheboygan Area School District as a custodian until his retirement in 2013.
On October 28, 1978, Don was united in marriage with Patricia Pitsch at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
Don was a longtime member of Crossroads Community Church, where he enjoyed the leadership, messages and music. An active outdoorsman, Don loved hunting, fishing, and spending time up north at the family cabin in Pembine. He also looked forward to playing sheepshead with his family and friends. Most important, his family always came first and he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife Patti, and their children: David of Sheboygan, Joseph of Wauwatosa, Andrew (Laurie) of Sheboygan and Melissa (Aaron) Grasser of Brookfield. He is further survived by six grandchildren: Deagin, Autumn, Ashlyn, Jack, Joshua and Logan; siblings: Dan (Debra) Pilon of Murrysville, PA, Doug Pilon (Sue) of Fond du Lac, Ruth (Jack) Petersen of Carmel, IN and Mary Rustad of Rochester, MN; mother-in-law Ruby Pitsch of Sheboygan; many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Crossroads Community Church, 4321 County Road A in Sheboygan. A reception will follow the service at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (stopsarcoidosis.org).
