Donna Maria Marshall (née Denis), age 67, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2026, in Random Lake, Wisconsin. Born on August 8, 1958, in Providence, Rhode Island, Donna brought warmth, laughter, and unwavering generosity to all who knew her.
Donna was the beloved daughter of Oscar and Maria (Falcon) Denis. She spent most of her life in Rhode Island before fulfilling a lifelong dream by moving to the countryside of Wisconsin on New Year’s Eve 2017. Accompanied by her cherished furbabies, Savannah and Dakota, she embraced rural life with joy and enthusiasm. Her move allowed her to be closer to horses—an enduring passion—and to share daily life with her best friend Audrey (Jay) Shaw Rose and their extended families.
Since 1999, Donna found her calling as a school bus driver—a role that became far more than a job. Her school kids were a source of pride and joy; they were the reason she never fully retired. Known for her vibrant personality and unmistakable voice—“Of course I’m loud, I’m Italian!” she would proudly declare—Donna had an unmatched ability to connect with people. Whether it was offering help without hesitation or making someone laugh within minutes of meeting them, she left a lasting impression wherever she went.
Her love for animals was boundless. From dogs and horses to any creature in need of affection or care, Donna’s heart was always open including her blind and deaf chinchilla, Corky. She also found great joy in cooking and sharing meals with those around her—a true expression of her nurturing spirit.
Donna is lovingly remembered by her son Michael Marshall Jr. (Nicole); grandsons Jayson and Michael Marshall III; siblings Debra (Richard) Meckes, Robert (Cheryl) Denis, and Denise Anderson; nieces and nephews; best friend Audrey (Jay) Shaw Rose; and two surrogate sons David (Amy) Rose and Michael (Katie) Rose and families. Her presence enriched the lives of many beyond family—nobody was a stranger to Donna.
A proud fan of Luke Bryan and never one to hide what she was thinking, Donna lived authentically and wholeheartedly. Her legacy is one of laughter, compassion, strength, and deep connection.
Memorials in Donna’s name may be made to Cedar Grove Veterinary Services.
