Dr. Robert C. Weber

Anyone who came into contact with Robert Charles (Bob, Sonny, Charlie) Weber would tell you that he was a nice guy. Kind. Generous. Thoughtful. Devoted. Faithful. Energetic. And very often Stubborn! He was born to Reinhold and Alice (Fleishman) Weber on April 18, 1927. He died at home in the early morning hours of March 7, 2026, falling short of his goal of getting to 100. He had a remarkable and enviable life filled with love, joy, cherished friendships, and devoted children.

Anyone who knew him, knew that his Faith was the first priority in his life. He was member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls where he had been a Lay Minister. He was constantly practicing, renewing and challenging his Catholic Faith-ask anyone. We are confident he is now relaying to the “Big Guy” his ideas for improvements. He was especially proud of the many hours dedicated to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and its mission. He was awarded its highest honor for service: the Ozanam Award. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and had served on the Blessed Trinity Church Council.

Everybody knows that his Family was a close second priority. He was joined in marriage to Therese Barbara (Schlaefer) Weber, his childhood sweetheart, in 1951. They were married almost 50 years, until her death July 13, 2001. In addition to 8 children of their own, they had 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two amazing AFS sons; one from the Philippines and one from France. He was extremely proud of the accomplishments of each of his eight children and his two AFS sons.

Anyone who knew him knows that he devoted many years to his profession, Dentistry, both as a private practitioner and as an advocate. He had patients who still recall his soft touch, his kind attentions and gentle persuasions. He constantly sought ways to improve and modernize his techniques and knowledge. In 1995, after 42 years, he retired from the active practice of dentistry. Then he became an instructor at Marquette University Dental School and helped reinvigorate the dental hygiene program at LTC. He served Dentistry beyond the local level by serving as an appointed member of the Wisconsin Dental Examining Board for over 10 years. He realized his love of his profession while serving in the Army in Korea as a dental assistant. He was often known to appear at family (and other) events with toothbrushes to distribute.

Another passion of Bob’s was education. He spent 10 years on the local school board and several as its President. He devoted many years to teaching Religious Education at Blessed Trinity and especially cherished the chance to mentor youth.

In his later years he fell into a pleasant pattern of church, swimming, Spanish club, book club, celebrating St Appolonia’s feast Day, and writing a book. He fed birds and squirrels and grew amaryllises. He enjoyed the company and conversations of some of his dearest friends during these times. Please appreciate the irony that he spent many years serving as a chaplain for hospice, caring for and ministering to the dying. Then he spent the last day of his life in the care of Sharon Richardson Hospice. In addition to Sharon Richardson Hospice, the family would like to thank Dr. Mark Bettag and Dr. Elizabeth Zurich for their undying compassionate care.

He is survived by his 8 children: Paul (Rae-Ellen Johnson) Weber; Mary (Mike Sullivan) Weber; Peter (Deborah Nelson) Weber; Dr. Barbara Weber; John (Theresa Murray) Weber; Jane Weber Vos; Luke (Linda Nelson) Weber and Ruth Ann (Carl) Paul. Two AFS sons: Edgardo Reyes and Didier Wabant. Three sisters: Eloise Bienvenu; Maureen Nirschl; and Mary Alice Metzler. Two brothers: Eugene Weber and Donald (Judy) Weber. 13 grandchildren: Nathan (Kesha) Weber; Rachel (John Brunmeier) Weber-Brunmeier; Perry Weber; Maureen Sullivan; Robert Weber; Jamee (Jon) Gischia; Holly (Dan) Hampeys; Sara (Steven) Schuh; Samuel (Kimberly) Vos; Maxwell Vos; Mitchell Vos; Simon Paul; Emily (Donne) Robbins; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Therese B. (Schlaefer) Weber, his parents Reinhold and Alice Weber, his in-laws Dr. Mathias and Mamie Schlaefer; a brother Allan Weber; a twin sister Carolyn Leininger; a son-in-law Scott Vos; and a grandson Austin Weber.
