Eleanor Engstrom

Eleanor A. Ingelse Engstrom, 96, of Oostburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Pine Haven Christian Home. Eleanor was born on February 15, 1922, in the Town of Emerald, WI to Edward and Alice (Simmelink) Voskuil. Eleanor was a 1939 graduate of Baldwin High School.  After high school she attended River Falls Teaching College. On December 27, 1944 she married Lawrence E. Ingelse in Baldwin, WI. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1974. On June 18, 1977, Eleanor married Rev. Theodore H. Engstrom in Oostburg. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2003.  Eleanor was a dedicated wife and mother.  Eleanor was a member of Bethel OPC where she taught Bible School, and Sunday School. She was involved in the Rebekah Society and Oostburg Christian School Circle. Eleanor enjoyed reading, quilting, ceramics and crafts.  Eleanor is survived by her five daughters, Bonnie (Les) Hilbelink of Oostburg, Barbara Ingelse of Fort Mill, SC, Dr. Beverly Ingelse of Philadelphia, PA, Lu (Dr. Richard) Belcher of Ft. Mill, SC, Kay (Dr. Robert) Currie of Elgin, IL; three sons, Robert (Kathy) Ingelse of Oostburg, Randall (Donna) Ingelse of Belgium, Roy (Patricia) Ingelse of Oostburg; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Grace (James) Harrelson of Boone, NC, Faith Rossi of Des Moines, IA; one step-son, Mark (Kathryn) Engstrom of Land O'Lakes, FL; eight step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dee TeBeest of Germantown, and Carol (Reuben) TerLouw of Pella, IA; and one sister-in-law, Sally Voskuil of Green Bay. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by two husbands, Lawrence Ingelse and Theodore Engstrom; her parents; one granddaughter, Rebekah Hilbelink, and one step-granddaughter Maggie Harrelson, two great-granddaughters, Annabella Loerop, and Caylee Loerop; one step-daughter, Hope Engstrom; three sisters, Marlis (John) Blok, Muriel (Don) Christianson, and Laverne (Clarence) Somsen; one brother, David Voskuil; and one brother-in-law, Lowell TeBeest. A funeral service to celebrate Eleanor's life will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at Bethel OPC in Oostburg with Rev. Dave Veldhorst officiating. Burial will take place at Oostburg Cemetery following the funeral service. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 4:00 pm until 7:00pm and again on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Bethel OPC from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. A memorial fund is being established in her name for Oostburg Christian School and Sheboygan Christian School. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of Pine Haven Christian Communities and Sharon S.
