Ellsworth Hilbelink

Ellsworth Harley Hilbelink, 87, of Cedar Grove, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.Ellsworth was born on April 18, 1931, in Cedar Grove, WI, to Harvey and Evelyn (Lammers) Hilbelink. He grew up on a farm where he established a great work ethic. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and later continued his education at Lakeshore Technical College. On September 14, 1951, Ellsworth married Marjorie Veldboom at First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. Ellsworth worked for 39 years at Kohler Company as a machinist.Ellsworth served as a deacon at his church and held his faith as dear to him. He was a quiet man who loved God, instructed his children in the way of the Bible, and loved Jesus. He enjoyed bowling and competing in bowling for many years.Ellsworth is survived by his daughter, Mary Lou (Scott) O'Connell of Sheboygan; his two sons, Carl (Connie) Hilbelink of Cottage Grove and Michael Hilbelink of Cedar Grove; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Elvira (Ken) Janke; brother, Ernest (Betty Fabian) Hilbelink; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Walter) Kasier and Marion (Virgil) Mullikin. Ellsworth is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.Ellsworth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Marjorie Hilbelink; two brothers, Gordon (Margaret) Hilbelink, and Wesley Hilbelink. A funeral service to celebrate Ellsworth's life will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019, the Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg at 4:00 pm with Rev. Don Ritsman. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 4 pm.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name for Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
