Eugene A. Heinen, 94, of Oostburg, entered into Eternal life on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center - Sheboygan.
Gene was born on June 20, 1931, to Abram and Jennie (Roelofsen) Heinen in the Town of Lima and grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1948. Gene went on to serve his country in the US Marines from 1952-1954.
On June 18, 1954, he married Marian Ringel at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheboygan.
Gene was a lifetime member of Gibbsville Church, where he served as elder and deacon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a lifelong Cubs fan. Gene was employed at Kohler Co. for 39 years until his retirement, working in various departments.
Gene is survived by his three daughters, Sue Lensink of Oostburg, Mary (Randy) Brill of Waldo, and Patti (David) Vander Ploeg of Arizona; two sons, Steve Heinen of Oostburg and Michael (Kaye) Heinen of Waldo; nine grandchildren, Aaron (Angela) Lensink, Andrew (Katie) Lensink, Eric (Lindee) Brill, Jason (Andrea) Brill, Kevin (Ashley) Brill, Michael (Hope) Vander Ploeg, Stephanie (Kyle) Brandt, Brett (Abby) Vander Ploeg, and Ashley (Brad) Hansen; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Konz of Sheboygan, and Joyce (Carl) Meggers of Sheboygan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife Marian; parents; son-in-law, Paul Lensink; brothers, Rueben (Romilda) Heinen, Harold (Arleen) Heinen; sister, Eunice Lewis; brothers-in-law Frank Konz, Donald (Audrey) Ringel, Richard Ringel, and Ken (Kathy) Ringel; and sisters-in-law, Charlotte Ringel, Toni (Fred) Barthels, and Caroline (Joe) Vrubley.
A funeral to celebrate Gene's life will be held at Gibbsville Church on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 11:30am. A private burial will take place at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. A livestream of the service can be viewed by visiting Gene’s obituary page on wenigfh.com.
Visitation will be held at church from 9:00am until 11:00am.
A memorial fund is being established in his name for Gibbsville Church.
