Evelyn Dyke Koene, age 101 passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022.

Evelyn was born June 11, 1920 to Albert and Minnie (Gartman) Dyke in the Town of Lima, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. She was baptized on August 8, 1920 by the Rev. Joseph Oesch of Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wilson, and was confirmed there on April 9, 1933. She was a 1938 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School, and The Sheboygan Business College in 1939.

Evelyn was married on August 31, 1940 to Eugene Martin Koene at Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage.  She and her husband farmed in the Town of Lima for 57 years. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1997.

She was a charter member of the Trinity Church Choir, and a former Ladies Aid Society member. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She also served on the Altar Guild, was a member of the Golden Agers, the Quilters, and weekly Bible classes. Some of Evelyn’s main interests have been reading, music, Bible study, various church activities, traveling, and family togetherness.

Evelyn is survived by two sons: Pastor Eugene Albert Koene of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Ralph David (Jennie) Koene of Sheboygan Falls; six grandsons: Eric (Michelle) Koene of Sheboygan, Philip (Theresa) Koene of Edgerton, Adam Koene of Waldo, Joel (Lurlie) Koene of Sheboygan, Michael P. Koene of Brooklyn, New York and Stephen (Tenika) Koene of Brooklyn, New York.

Evelyn is further survived by eight great-grandchildren: Anastasia, Michael L., Justin, Kayla, Madison, Devin, Shakirah, and Elijah Koene; and one great-great granddaughter, Mia Angeline Koene. Also, ten step-great-grandchildren, and fourteen step-great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Steven Olstad of Broomfield, Colorado, and Peter Olstad of Denver, Colorado; and two grand-nieces, Angelica and Rebekah Olstad.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by one sister, Doris (David) Olstad; daughter-in-law, Stella Koene; niece-in-law, Jennifer Olstad; and a great-grandson, Alexander J. Koene.

The funeral service for Evelyn will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wilson, where she was a life-long member. The service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Pastor Shane Cota will be officiating.  Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in the family plot next to her husband at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Evelyn's name for Trinity Lutheran Church.

The family would also like to thank Meadow View Health Services, and the Aurora at Home Hospice care workers for the wonderful care that Evelyn has received over the last several years. A special thank you to Judy T for all of her personal cares, and to Evelyn's niece, Mary Jane Strade, for the daily phone calls and encouragement.
