Frederick Preder

Frederick "Fritz" Preder, 84, of Oostburg, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, at his home. Fritz was born on April 14, 1934, in Sheboygan, to Garret and Jennie (Dekker) Preder. He attended Sheboygan Falls High School.  Fritz served his country in the United States Army from 1957 - 1958.  On January 18, 1957, Fritz married Ellen TenHaken. Fritz worked in the brass department at the Kohler Company for 33 years. After retirement he worked part time at Dutchland Plastics. Fritz was a member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg. He enjoyed doing yard work, mowing lawn, and woodworking.  Fritz is survived by his wife, Ellen; two daughters, Wendy (Brad) Baackes, and Susan (Jeffrey) Becker; one son, Brian Preder; six grandchildren, Kendra (David) Nyhof, Alyson (fiancé Spencer McCoy) Baackes, Joshua (Jocelyn) Becker, Nathan (Janie) Becker, Linsey Becker, and Cody Preder; two great-grandchildren, Journey and Jack Becker; three sisters, Betty (Art) Sebald, Marge Kempink, and Jane TenHaken; one brother, Rollen "Dick" Preder; one sister-in-law, Beverly TenHaken, and one brother-in-law, Glenn (Mary Lynn) TenHaken. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Gordon (Rhoda) Preder, Gerald Preder, Lloyd (Josphine) Preder, Warren (Grace) Preder, and Roland "Jack" Preder; one sister, Margaret (Ralph) Oehmichen; parents-in-law, Edwin and Lydia TenHaken; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold Kempink, Leslie Ten Haken, Norman TenHaken and Virginia (Calvin) Awe.  A memorial service to celebrate Fritz's life will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 2pm at the First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Rev. Bob Rook officiating. An inurnment will take place at Hartman Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm.  A memorial fund is being established in his name for First Reformed Church in Oostburg and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Sharon S.
