Gary L. Neese

Gary L. Neese entered eternal rest peacefully at the age of 79 at his home on Saturday, June 28, with family by his side.

Gary was born to Erwin and Leona (Richter) Neese on February 2, 1946, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. After graduating from South High School in Sheboygan, he was drafted and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

On November 8, 1969, Gary was united in marriage with Sharon M. Balza in Sheboygan. The couple shared 52 memorable years together before Sharon’s passing in 2022.

As a dedicated 46 year employee of Kohler Company, Gary worked as a setup man in the Engine Division and was a proud member of the Quarter Century Club. Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sheboygan was blessed to have Gary as a devoted, lifetime member. Gary dedicated his time within the church in countless ways throughout the years. The Town of Sheboygan Fire Department held Gary as a member for 22 years, ultimately retiring as Assistant Chief. Gary appreciated spending time with his family, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing Rummy 500, and loved telling about his latest deal from a garage sale.

Gary is survived by his children: Randal (Melissa) of Kohler and Eric (Laura McCarthy) of Sheboygan. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 11 great-children, brothers: Dale (Diane) Neese, and Neal Neese, sisters: Shelby Truttschel, Bonnie Spindler, June (Donald) Weimann, numerous relatives and friends. Gary is preceded in death by his wife Sharon, son Matthew, parents Erwin and Leona, his brother Glenn, sister-in-law Carol Neese, and brothers-in-law Eugene Koll, Eugene Truttschel and Dale Spindler.

The visitation will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 9:30a.m. to 11:00a.m. followed by funeral services to celebrate Gary’s life at 11:00a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church 3027 Wilgus Avenue, Sheboygan with Rev. Bryan Osladil officiating. Following the service Gary will be laid to rest beside Sharon at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his name to the Camo Quilt Project located in Plymouth.

“Nothing in this world, no other sight can compare to the love of God which has come to us in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Have you ever started looking for one thing and wound up finding another, better thing? That’s serendipity. Epiphany is the celebration of serendipity.”~Rev. Kenneth R. Klaus
