George F. Saeger, 77, of 1706 Humbolt Ave., Sheboygan, died peacefully on Friday morning, February 02, 2007 at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was born June 11, 1929 in Sheboygan Falls, the son of the late George and Helen (Ehren) Saeger. George was a 1947 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School and served in the US Army-Military Police in Arlington from 1947-50. On April 28, 1951 he married Carol Meyer in Sheboygan Falls. George worked at Curt G. Joa and later was a machinist at Kohler General for 46 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Sheboygan Outboard Club, and Waushara Senior Center. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, crafts, sports, card playing, softball, golf and bowling. He was a volunteer driver for the Dept. of Aging, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Carol; four sons, Robert (Vicki) of Sheboygan, Rodney (Lori) of Sheboygan Falls, Roger (Wendy) and Ross (Karla) Saeger, both of Sheboygan; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Ken) Anderson and Nicole Saeger, Diana and Christina, Trevor and Jessica, Samantha, Kasey and Mark Saeger; two great grandchildren, Isabella Anderson, Samuel John Hernandez; one sister, Dorothy (Jim) Bushway of Florida. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Trudy Saeger; and a brother, Richard Saeger. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Monday, February 5, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Funeral services for George will be held on Monday, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Janzen, officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Monday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund will be established in his name. The family wishes to extend their special appreciation to the St. Nicholas Hospital doctors and staff; and the staff of Sheboygan Progressive Care Center for the wonderful care given to George.
