Gerald A. Hinterberg

Gerald A. Hinterberg, 81, formerly of Sheboygan Falls and West Bend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in Fond du Lac.

Gerald was the first-born son of John “Giant” and Erma (Woolson) Hinterberg, born February 23, 1944. He grew up in Pewaukee and attended Michigan Tech. He later moved to Silicon Valley and worked for GM in California. He was drafted into the Army and served his country in Vietnam.

An old car enthusiast, Gerald was known for his encyclopedic knowledge of automobiles and engines. He enjoyed reading and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan. He loved guns, especially shooting and reloading. He cherished memories made on his frequent visits up north to Crivitz. He was a loving and generous man, who leaves behind a legacy of caring for others.

Gerald is survived by his children Michael, Becky, Bridgett and Lisa; 5 beloved grandsons, his “boys”; great-grandchildren; siblings: Diane Gaudynski, Mary Schmidt, John “Jack”, James and Neil, nieces, nephews, and former wife Helen Lane. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Helen, and former wife Kristine.

According to his wishes, Gerald was cremated and a private family gathering was held.

Memorials are suggested in his name to The Parkinson’s Foundation.
