Gerald "Jerry" L. Wilson

Gerald “Jerry” L. Wilson, age 82, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on November 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Jerry was born on October 6, 1944, in St. Louis City, Missouri and came to live with Wilbert and Iola Redhage, his foster parents. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1962. Jerry went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War in Thailand.

On August 8, 1970, Jerry was united in marriage to Lorraine “Lorrie” Stroschein, the love of his life, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wilson.

Jerry loved working with people and was a successful salesman. Over his career, Jerry worked at HC Pranges (Younkers), Rodewald Buick, American Auto Sales and B & B Ford (Kennedy Ford) until his retirement. Jerry couldn’t stay retired; he became a greeter at the Southside Walmart.

Jerry was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, serving on the council, as an elder and Couples Club (St. Paul Friends). Promoting the annual Trash 'n Treasure Sale performing skits with Lorrie for the church was always a highlight and brought out his sense of humor. Music was a major part of his life. Jerry sang with the Sheboygan Lutheran Chorus, the Sheboygan Barbershop Chorus, "For the Good Times" Quartet and St. Paul Church Adult Choir. His smile and gentle nature was an asset when he became Santa at Pranges and private events for many years. Jerry was also involved in the Sheboygan Falls Campfire Girls as Camp Director at Camp Bird in Crivitz, WI. Jerry was a Charter member of Sheboygan Falls Optimist Club and a board member for the United Way of Sheboygan County.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorrie; children, Monica (Rick) Bailey of Jasper, Indiana, Jason Wilson, and Rachael Wilson; granddaughter, Maya Leitch and her children, Presley and Miles; granddaughter, Marlette Leitch and her children, Brooklyn and Lucas; brother, Rev. Lloyd (Rochelle) Redhage; nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Iola Redhage; parents-in-law, Wally and Caroline Stroschein; and brother-in-law, Gary Stroschein.

A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls on Monday, November 16, 2026, at 1:00pm. Visitation will take place at church from 10:00am until the time of service.
