Gerri L. Olson

Gerri L. (Hopkins) Olson, 70, of Sheboygan Falls, was united with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice-Sheboygan Falls.

She was born on August 17, 1954, in Warsaw, Indiana to Cloyce and Donna (Ellis) Hopkins.

Gerri graduated from Warsaw High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Thomas Olson on March 3, 1973, at the Winona Lake Presbyterian Church in Indiana. Gerri earned her undergraduate degree from Lakeland University in Psychology and her master’s degree in counseling from Concordia University. She worked as a teacher in various roles and later as a counselor for Lutheran Social Services. Tom and Gerri opened their loving home when Karen and Matt were in High School by adopting five additional children.

Gerri loved being a part of the Sheboygan Falls Library Board. Along with her husband Tom, she was actively involved in the Gideons International Auxiliary, eFree Church of Sheboygan, and the Kettle Moraine Corvette Club. She loved reading, taking walks, trips to Door County, and spending time at the lake. Gerri also supported Tom in leading small group bible studies for 45 years. Above all, she cherished her time with her loving family and her service to the Lord.

Gerri is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Tom; children, Karen (Mike) Conley, Matthew (Calli) Olson, Laila (Dr. Cesar) Morales, Kelry (Tim) Kirschenmann, Kayla Olson, David (Xixi) Olson and Patric Olson; grandchildren, Taylor, Lexie, Graham, Hannah and Beckett Conley, Gabrielle, Bennett, Maverick and Elliotte Olson, Sergio and Valentine Morales, Linxuan and Liliana Olson, Eliana, Miciah and Estella Kirschenmann; mother, Donna Hopkins; brother, Greg Hopkins, fiancée (Carla); sister, Gay (Paul) Daniel; brother-in-law, Tim Olson, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and parents-in-law, Walter and Elizabeth Olson.

A private committal service will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Sheboygan eFree Church, 1710 N 15th St, Sheboygan, WI, with Pastor Jon MacDonald officiating. Friends and family may greet for a time of visitation at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service.

In-lieu of flowers suggested memorial donations can be made in Gerri’s name to Samaritan's Purse, World Vision and Gideons International organizations.
