Gertrude DePagter

Gertrude B. DePagter, 101, formerly of the Town of Wilson, passed away on Friday March 12, 2010 at Pine Haven Christian Home . Gertrude was born on November 18, 1908 in Belgium, daughter of the late Jacob and Katherine (Oberst) Buchholz. She attended Four Leaf Clover School in the Town of Belgium. On June 22, 1932 she married Harvey James DePagter in Belgium. Harvey preceded her in death on August 16, 1981. Gertrude was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and formerly of St. George Catholic Church in the Town of Wilson. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers. Survivors include three sons, Gerald (fiance' Janice Hallada) DePagter of Sheboygan, Richard DePagter of Florida, and Daniel DePagter of Sheboygan; 16 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, a daughter Elaine (John) Hubing, two sons, Norbert and Edward DePagter, a daughter-in-law Maria DePagter, three sisters, and two brothers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 10:00 am at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at St. George Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and at church on Tuesday from 9:00 until the time of the service at 10:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Gertrude's name for Blessed Trinity Parish and Pine Haven Christian Home.
