Gladys Sarah Ebbers, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday December 28, 2020, joining her husband Kenneth Eugene Ebbers, 97, who passed away on December 25, 2020. The couple resided at the Larsen House in Columbus, WI, and formerly lived in Oostburg. Kenneth was born on May 17, 1923, in Gibbsville, WI to Harvey and Esther (Dulmes) Ebbers. He was a graduate of Oostburg High School. Kenneth faithfully served his country in the United States Navy as a diver bomber from 1942 until 1945.  Gladys was born May 11, 1924 in Hingham, WI to Jesse and Florence (TeStroote) Scholten. She was raised in Oostburg and attended Oostburg High School.  Kenneth and Gladys (Scholten) were united in marriage on March 9, 1945.  Kenneth was employed at USPS for 28 years as a rural carrier until his retirement in 1980. Gladys raised their 3 sons at their home in Oostburg.They were members of Gibbsville Reformed Church, where Kenneth served as an elder, deacon, and sang in the church choir. Kenneth enjoyed golfing, fishing, wood working, playing horseshoe, and traveling to Arizona every winter with his wife. Gladys was an avid gardener, loved to golf, and was on a bowling team for years. They both loved playing with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kenneth and Gladys are survived by three sons, Don Ebbers of Plover, WI, Mark (Ann) Ebbers of Plymouth, MN, Larry (Joanne) Ebbers of Poinciana, FL; six grandchildren, Matthew (Angela) Ebbers, Joshua (Kari) Ebbers, Joel (Katie) Ebbers, Tamara (Eric) Campbell, Timothy (Jenny) Ebbers, Melinda (Robert) Tracy; and 14 great-grandchildren. They are further survived by their sisters-in-law, Linda Scholten, Patricia Scholten; other relatives and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Esther Ebbers; sister, Lilian Damkot; and a brother, Lloyd Ebbers. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Florence Scholten; sister, Lenore (Arno) Schneider; and three brothers, Arlin (Doris) Scholten, Richard Scholten, David Scholten. A private funeral service will be held at Union Cemetery with Pastor Sid Litke officiating.
