James Foesch

James C." Jimmy" Foesch, 72, of Portage, and formerly of Sheboygan Falls died on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Lifekeepers Home where he had resided for the past five years.Jimmy was on March 1, 1948 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Clifford A. and Maxine (Rasmussen) Foesch. Jimmy graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1966 and then faithfully served with the US Army in Vietnam. While there he was a part of the 1st Air Cavalry, General Custer's Original Cavalry, 2nd Battalion, 7th regiment. Jimmy was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Jimmy also attended Texas A&M for Highway Construction.Jimmy was known as Ham Operator WA9DOQ. He enjoyed spending time with his caregivers at Lifekeepers and spending time with their dogs. Jimmy liked to watch The Incredible Dr. Pol, listening to music. He appreciated the friendship and care from the Heartland Hospice Care team. Jimmy will be remembered for the many hearts he touched and the endless special memories that he shared with his staff at Lifekeepers...all who will miss him dearly.Jimmy is survived by his brother, Timothy (Patricia) Foesch of Sheboygan, two nephews, Adam (Jessica) and Andy (Nikki) Foesch; and his caretakers and friends at Lifekeepers in Portage.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Foesch.A funeral to celebrate Jimmy's life will take place at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 23, 2020. A private burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.A public visitation will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Proper COVID precautions and guidelines will be followed including social distancing.
