It is with great sadness that the family of James C Stirling Jr announces his passing at Pine Haven Christian Communities in Sheboygan Falls, WI, on the morning of January 13, 2026, at the age of 86. James, formerly of Venice, FL and Lynn, MA, was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gail K Stirling, who passed away in 2020.
James was born on September 20, 1939, to the late James Sr. and Catherine Stirling. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Stirling.
James is survived and lovingly remembered by his sister, Isabel and her husband Douglas Clark of Leesburg, FL; and by his sons: Scott Stirling and his husband Chad Solamita of Grafton, WI; Eric and his wife Stephanie Stirling of Plymouth, WI; and Chris Stirling and his partner Felicia Carreiro of Methuen, MA.
He is cherished and remembered by his grandchildren: Joshua and his wife Kathryn Stirling of Madison, WI; Kaitlynn and her husband Ben Honeck of Thiensville, WI, and great-grandson Stacke; Stephen Stirling and his girlfriend Marlena Lee of Plymouth, WI; Meghan and her husband Brylan Weisensel of Bellingham, WA; and Malakai Denault of Methuen, MA.
James had a lifelong love of photography and lighthouses, passions that reflected his appreciation for quiet beauty and the stories found in everyday moments. He and Gail cherished their years living in Venice, FL, especially their many visits to the South Jetty. Family, faith, and simple joys shaped the heart of his life.
James will be laid to rest beside Gail in Lynn, MA, in the fall.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM, in the Community Center at Pine Haven Christian Communities, 220 Haven Drive, Sheboygan Falls WI. A gathering will take place from 2:00-3:00pm with light refreshments following the service.
The Stirling family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Aurora Medical Center, the Pine Haven staff who cared for James, where he resided since 2018, offering daily care and support, and to the Sharon Richardson Hospice Staff and the (No One Dies Alone) volunteers, for caring for Jim in his final days, offering compassion and support to him and his loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory may be made to the missions program at Christian Life Church in Plymouth, WI. Or made to Sharon Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
