Janis Myra Liepert, age 93, of Pine Haven Community, Sheboygan Falls (formerly of Random Lake), passed away peacefully late Thursday, September 2, 2021.The former Janis Stolper was born to Arno and Cora (nee Kumrow) Stolper on April 25, 1928 in Sheboygan.
Janis attended St John Lutheran Grade School in Sherman Center and was confirmed at St John Lutheran Church, Sherman Center. Janis served many years on the church altar guild, an assistant to the treasurer and a member of the choir.
She graduated from Random Lake High School in 1946.
On November 23, 1950 Janis married Willis Liepert at St John Lutheran Church. They lived in Random Lake until 2016 when they moved to senior living in Sheboygan Falls.
Janis held a variety of jobs during her life, but her most prevalent job was helping others and making their lives easier – including her children, grandchildren, neighbors and church family. She was a very caring person who always gave of herself to benefit others. She spent countless hours volunteering, gardening, petsitting, and babysitting. She loved to fix and mend things (and never threw anything away!)
Janis and Willis ran Cherry Hill Apple Orchard in Batavia for 16 years. Her personal record for apple picking was 74 wood apple boxes in one day!
Janis is survived by her husband Willis of almost 71 years, who resides at Pine Haven Community, Sheboygan Falls. She is also survived by their daughters: Lynette Liepert (Terry Sterr) of Fond du lac and LuAnn (James F.) Goetsch of Sheboygan Falls. She is further survived by her granddaughter Kara (Bryon) Ehlert of Oshkosh; great-grandchildren Riley and Julia Pearson of Oshkosh; step-grandchildren James E. Goetsch, Steven Sterr, and Rebecca Sterr; step-great-grandchild Madelyn Ehlert. Also her sister Jean Partezana of St. Clairsville, OH; brother-in-law Walter (Ruth) Friedemann of Random Lake; sister-in-law Janice Liepert (Al Kempf) of Plymouth; sister-in-law Marilyn Liepert of West Bend; sister-in-law Gloria Liepert of Kewaskum; nieces, nephews, cousins.
Janis is preceded in death by her grandson Dion Joel Mueller, her parents, and four siblings: Willis Stolper, Milton Stolper, Marlene Friedemann, and Laverne Myers.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church, W5406 County Road SS, Random Lake. Pastor Christopher Gillespie will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00PM. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church are appreciated.
