Beloved Oostburg couple Jay (56) and Nicole (51) Horne passed away tragically on Monday, May 26, 2025 in a car accident.
Jay was born December 29, 1968 in Michigan, the son of Marshall and Joan (Snyder) Horne. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1987. Since August of 1992, Jay worked at Richco Structures where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. In leadership positions nearly the entire time, Jay was a roof line leader, the head of the quality control department and most recently ran a floor production line.
Nicole was born June 4, 1973 in Sheboygan, the daughter of David and Rogene (Onnink) Dulmes. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1991 and was a 1992 graduate of Lakeshore Technical College. The following year, she began her 31+ year career at Here We Grow in Sheboygan. “Miss Nicole” loved and cherished the children she cared for as much as they adored her. Nicole was patient and kind. She went above and beyond for everyone she met and continued to connect with many after leaving the center. She was definitely a “LIGHT” who had “GOD” in her heart! She will be greatly missed but remembered forever! We know she will be holding all the angel babies in heaven.
The couple was united in marriage on May 11, 1996. They shared over 29 years together filled with love and laughter, and raised two wonderful children, Nathaniel and Allissa.
Devout members of Crossroads, Jay and Nicole devoted themselves to living lives of faith, kindness and generosity, guided always by love. Nicole volunteered with Crossroads Kids and the youth ministry, RUSH, where she continued to positively impact the youth of her church.
Nicole’s other passions included photography. She loved taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets, and was also involved with photographing local school sports teams.
Jay loved watching sports such as the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks. He enjoyed bonfires with family and friends.
Jay and Nicole’s family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and communities share in the loss of a couple who will be missed endlessly and leave behind a legacy of lives well lived.
