Jean Ann Bruggink, 75, of Oostburg, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. Jean A. DeBlaey was born on September 18, 1942, in Sheboygan, to Donald and Gloria (Opgenorth) DeBlaey. She was a graduate of Oostburg High School. On September 5, 1964, Jean married Glenn in Oostburg. Jean was employed at Musebeck Shoe Factory as a Shoe Cutter and enjoyed working at Dutch Cleaners in Cedar Grove. She was a member of the Gibbsville Reformed Church. Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, especially her roses, traveling, her favorite being Hawaii. She enjoyed taking mustang rides and going out to eat, especially with her Thursday morning gang. Jean is survived by her husband, Glenn Bruggink, three sisters, Mary Gosse, Nancy Braaten, Christine Lindow; two brothers, James (Linda) DeBlaey, Mark DeBlaey; and a sister-in-law, Donna (Jim) DeBlaey-Davies. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Sr.and Gloria DeBlaey, brother, Donald Jr. DeBlaey; and her parents-in-law, Howard (Agnes) Bruggink.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 4 pm until 7pm. A private memorial service and inurnment at Hartman Cemetery will then be held at a later date. A memorial fund is being established in her name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Sharon S.
